Student Leadership Day "From Many to One"

Student Leadership Day is an annual spring gathering of campus positional student leaders for the following academic year to facilitate students' learning of each other's roles and responsibilities.  The theme "From Many to One" serves to signify and enforce the notion that listening, consensus building, and respect are valuable leadership skills in becoming servant leaders.

 

Student Leadership Day brings together undergraduate student leaders, including:

  • Orientation Advisors
  • Resident Assistants
  • Student Ministers
  • Student Association Representatives
  • Program Board Officers
  • Student Organization Leaders

Programs are presented to students to achieve the following goals:

  • Students getting to know one another
  • Students learning about the various roles of other campus student leaders
  • Students meeting student life and other university staff
  • Students developing and honing leadership skills
  • Students gaining appreciation of common purpose of serving their classmates 

Examples of the topics expected to be covered during Leadership Day:

  • The nature of servant leadership
  • Followership and service
  • Goal setting and expectations
  • Conflict resolution
  • Communication and connectedness
  • Leadership & diversity
  • Role modeling
  • Understanding leadership styles

 

Additional information on Student Leadership Day 2010 will be coming early in the Spring semester.
